Online Robotics Inspection of Pygas – Sabtank
AFI Robotics successfully carried out an in-service robotic inspection of a Pygas storage tank using the TUWAIQ submersible robotic system. The project demonstrated safe online inspection in a highly flammable and hazardous environment without tank draining or man entry. The scope included automated UT inspection, SRUT, vapor-space visual inspection, and Extreme Value Analysis to assess corrosion, tank condition, and remaining life. The deployment was executed in line with API 653 / API RP 575 requirements, delivering reliable inspection data while significantly reducing downtime, safety exposure, and overall inspection cost compared with conventional methods.
